The beach walk

She came out of the office and turned towards the nearest beach from her home. She was crying all the way while walking towards beach.
The sun had already set. She chose to walk along the water rather than on the sand to feel the waves touching her feet and dying there.
She was at the darkest end of the beach as silent as death. The only sound audible was that of the waves.

The other end was full of life, happiness, laughter giggles, kids playing on sand, and the smell of Mumbai's specialty - street food.

But she was feeling away from all the sound today. There was a chaos raging in her mind.

She wanted to immerse herself in the sea and end her life.
A boy came to her and said,"ma'am don't walk here, walk along that side of beach." Saying so, he walked ahead.

She didn't bother to understand why he said that and continued walking along the water.

She didn't tell anyone that she is here. How will anyone inform at her home if she dies here today, she thought.

She was confused. She was sad.  She was not able to decide what is right and what is wrong.
After 10 mins the same boy came to her again and said,"Hi!! So, you decided not to listen to what I said."
She smiled and said," No,  actually yes,  but I am walking to that end. " and she pointed her finger towards other end of beach.

Boy : If you don't mind, Can I walk with you?
She wanted to tell him that she doesn't want anyone around her right now.
But she said, "Yes, you can. No issues."
Boy: Are you crying?
She tried to wipe her tears and said, "no no I m fine "
Boy : Okay. You are sad! Why have you choose to come here when you are gloomy? Does the sea gives you peace?
Girl : Absolutely!! The sound of the waves washes away my fear and sadness..
Boy : Where do you live?
Girl : Andheri, you?
Boy : I live here only, and he pointed towards his bungalow. I come here everyday for workout.
Girl : Okay.
Boy : How often you come here, to find peace, he chuckled.
Girl : Once in two or three month. Mumbai's traffic doesn't allow me to come here otherwise I would have come daily.
Boy : You are not from Mumbai?
Girls : Naah, I am few months old here.
Boy : Ohh, no wonder you are walking here. The reason why I asked you not to walk here is because many prostitutes walk this part of beach at this hour to look for business. You look lost but appear from a good a family that's why I thought to tell you not to walk here. I hope you didn't mind.
Girl : Is it? I didn't know that. But how did you know that I am not one of them?
Boy : Umm, My gut feel I think. But I know I am right :)

He escorted her to the other end of beach. She couldn't see his face in darkness. But thanked him anyways.

They asked each others name and exchanged their mobile numbers. He went ahead with his jogging.

Her beliefin people returned and so did her wish to live. A stranger brought her back to life.

  1. Strangers have no pre conceived notions hence they can relate to our current situation but when the stranger becomes friends thats when d journey starts. Ending life is no solution probe may end for you but it starts for people around you, Glad girl decided to live because what life can give you, death can't even think to achieve that.

  2. Yes.. Though we are matured not to take such silly steps but sometimes we need a push/pull from someone we know or even from a stranger..
