I danced like no one watching - Part 2

In continuation to my last blog about my dance performance here is part 2 of I danced like no one watching.

After few mistakes in our first performance, some of us shouted at each other but no matter how bad your last performance was, the show must go on and you have to be prepared for your next performance.

We did the same.. we came down to our green room and dressed up for next performance.

Our next performance was Nagada sang dhole baaje of Ramleela.

We needed lots of energy to perform on this pure folk dance song.. This song itself is full of energy but audience expect you to dance with same level of energy and enthusiasm.

Hence we decided to eat and drink something before makeup.

After feeding ourselves with chips and fruit juices the glittering beauties were ready to rock the stage.

I know I am looking fat in chaniya choli still I danced like no one watching because this is what I supposed to do there..

As we were standing back stage and saw the dance of the group before us. I was nervous as they gave super awesome performance but we decided that we will give even better.. Again we hugged each other and decided to give the best performance till date.

So, The most loved performance of the day is here.. Drop your comments and blessings to keep me going with my dreams..

I danced like no one watching -Part 1

When I came to Mumbai in Aug 2013, mee, my sister and my bhabs decided to join dance classes. Dance which is stress buster for some while alternative of exercise for some. But for mee its my love. And within 15 days we were in first session with VKDC. Warm up started and in next 15 mins we were so exhausted that I felt that I can't continue. The enthusiasm was overtaken by tiredness but determination said we can do it. Days, Weeks and months passed by.

In November our choreographer announced the annual day function in January and we all were super excited to perform on stage.

Preparations started. Sometimes our friends and group members don't come up for practice and sometimes sir doesn't come to class. We were nervous but we didn't give up and continued our practices.

And finally the day arrived. We all gathered at "Navin Bhai Thakkar Auditorium, Vile Parle"

Excited!! as you can see in the pic :D

We rehearsed our steps on both the songs, discussed not to be nervous and to give our best..
Then it was time to get into our costumes and do make-up for our performance.
Our first performance was on SAWAR LOON/ RAABTA, a contemporary dance style.

Everyone was looking so good in this costume that excitement increased exponentially.
(My sister and Mee are first and second from left)

Then it was time to hit the stage.. We wished all the best to everyone and took our positions..

I am posting a link to our performance here and will wait for your comments..

Enjoy!! Hope you will like it.
As I danced like no one watching. :)

And wait for next blog post of next performance..

He is no more mine and I'll miss him..

So friends and followers here is my first post of the year and I never thought it would be so emotional and so heartbreaking. Life is a challenge, we all feel happy and sad. I never posted anything directly that is effecting my mental peace so badly. And yes you guessed its right its about love. My lost love.
Love which could not be mine..

On third day of this year I came across a news which broke my heart. I could not control my emotions. I cried hard.

One of my friend sent me a pic on WhatsApp and said:

Friend : Buddy, John ne shadi kar li is se :D
Mee : :'( Aisa nhi ho sakta buddy, keh do ke ye jhooth hai
Friend : Sorry par ye sach hai dost. John even tweeted this.
Mee: Sab shadi kar lenge buddy to mera kya hoga. Mai John ke siwa kisi ke baare mei soch bhi nhi paungi.
Friend: Don't worry. Everything will be all right.
Mee: He should've informed me. Uski khushi hi to meri khushi hai. Usne kabhi mujhe apna samjha hi nhi buddy.

Then our conversation went on and on. But his words were not giving me consolation. I was sad. I was frustrated. I was broken. I couldn't accept the fact that the person whom I love the most, is no more with me.

I knew we couldn't be together. But atleast he was mine. If he told me that he wants to marry and is happy with someone else. I would've made myself strong to hear this news.

Even after hearing this news, I didn't have courage to google if this news is true or just a rumor.

I was sad. I was depressed. I was not ready to accept it.

In the evening of same day another friend pinged and asked 'John ne shadi kar li, aap gaye the ya nhi'.

And I was shattered. I have not replied to this message even today. :(

Next day my dad also said, John Abrahim ne shadi kar li.
I said: Haan, padha maine.
Mom: Kis se?
Mee: Koi Priya se.
Mom: Bipasha se to mana hi kar diya tha. Kar li, chalo ki toh kam se kam.

My senses stopped working, I dont know who said what after that.

All I know is that my heart is crying since then.

I will miss you John!! :'(

She herself is a baby!!

I was talking to a friend a couple of days back. We were talking about his girlfriend and he said "she herself is a baby" and he repeated it 3 times in 5 mins. I told him that you can't marry a baby or you have to wait till she turns 18.

We laughed but it kept me thinking that why every lover says his girl is a kid or a baby or they just call each other 'baby'. But why?? Being an engineer my mind started to search a logic or a valid reason behind it. ;)

First of all i hate ıf someone calls me baby ( might be a reason I am still single ) or ıf hear someone calling other 'baby'. Though my Bhabs' pet name is 'baby' but that is something different. So I come back to my topic, why is it that lovers call each other baby? I think it is because we love to be cared and treated like a baby.

We in our normal day to day life keep fighting with circumstances to earn more, to get a better position at work. Everyone expects us to behave like a mature boy/girl. But our inner kid wants to be pampered, loved and cared like a baby. They want to be shown concerned ıf they are not well, not had their meal. They behave like that child whom they can't show in front of other. All of us miss being a kid, jumping around because we want something, shout when happy and cry hard when sad, annoy everyone whenever we want. None can do this with everyone, so they do it in front of those whom they love and care and trust.

This is cute when you care and treat your loved one's as a kid.

But its public display is a bit awkward for the person like me.
P.S. : Don't ever dare to call me a baby, you will regret it on your nose.

I am sorry!!

Sorry!! A word which has lost its true meaning now a days.

Some people use it as ıf they have excess stock of 'sorry' and say it for everything.

Some people (including kids) never say sorry. Even ıf you tell them their mistake, they will not say sorry. Such is the ego of people. They care for their ego more than relation.

There are some who never accept their mistakes. They believe that they can't be wrong. Even they close their eyes seeing others in pain and believe that they have not seen anything.

Then there are some who do mistakes, realise it later, say sorry but never think before hurting others again.

It comes into their habbit. They never consider others' state of mind and situations before saying anything and hurting them. I am not sure how much they mean a 'sorry'. Saying sorry and again hurting them explains that you dint mean it last sorry.

I remember a scene  from 'Zindagi Milegi Na Dobara' when Farhan asks Hritik, "How many times I have to say sorry before you forgive me."
And Hritik replies, "Till the day you say it from your heart."

If you are saying sorry just for the sake of saying and not from your heart it means nothing.

Say it to mean it. Don't let this word lose its real meaning.

We care for you !!

We have so many people around us. Some care for us, some ignore us, some love us but don't show, some show but don't love.

We feel bad for those who ignore us and despite of caring so much we don't get same from them.

Some becomes over protective to tell that they care. While some find it very difficult to interact while someone in trouble and they find themselves helpless to bring others out of the problem.

In my perspective, most of the time, if someone is in problem, they don't want people to offer them help. Or, they don't expect anyone to wave their magic wand and make their problems disappear (sometimes they do). All they want is their friend or well wisher or both to stand by them in every situation.

I personally feel very weak if someone tries to help me. It makes me hate myself that I am not able to fight. Or sometimes it makes me hate others too because I am not happy with myself.

I know that everyone has their own battle to fight and basically nobody will fight it for you. But sometimes, knowing that people care for you and are there with you is the best help.

When people who are very close to you stop communication, then it hurts. They are not expecting you to show them any solution or feel pity that you are not able to solve their problem.

A person in problem is fighting with world. And is not ready to lose. What they want in return is RESPECT. When you try to protect such person you disrespect them.

So stand next to your friend if he/she is in problem and make him/her believe in him/herself. Don't break their trust and listen them carefully when they need someone to listen them.

And say "We care for you" only when you mean it.

Jashn-e-Ghulam Ali

17 Nov 2013 a milestone was achieved, a dream came true and that was to listen Ghulam Ali Sahab Live.

Jash-e-Ghulam Ali.. When I heard about the show on FM, I decided to go without giving a second thought.

Surprisingly same day later in the evening my brother asked me "Ghulam Ali ka show hai, chalogi kya?" And without discussing much we booked 4 tickets (Bhai, Bhabs, Mee and my younger sis).

I was so excited for the show and as the date is coming closer I was feeling more excited. Finally, the day arrived. Bhabs was not well but she decided to join us. (Such is the magic of Ghulam Ali Sahab)

Show timing was 7 o'clock. It was 6 and we were at home only. Bhai was shouting, you girls can never get ready on time. And we were like 'only 5 more mins' :D

We reached "Shanmukhanand Hall" at 7:10 PM. We did online booking hence we had to search a place where we could get ticket. We asked my Sis and Bhabs to stand at a place while we collect tickets. I was asking same from a security wale uncle, I heard a very humble voice from behind "Janab zara gaadi andar karni hai" I was in hurry and was more worried for tickets I simply moved to another side and didn't bother to turn and see the person. Bhai said "He is Roop Kumar Rathore" I turned and saw a person in Black Kurta, "Mr. Roop Kumar Rathore". I took a sigh of relief it means we are not late. :D

We collected our ticket and found our way to audi.  Ghulam Ali Sahab was not on stage, while some musicians were performing their piece of Tabla and flute.

7:45 PM and Ghulam Ali Sahab entered the stage every one stood and applauded for this living legend of Ghazals of our time. After some felicitation by guests and minister, Ghulam Ali Sahab was all set with his harmonium.

First Ghazal he sang was "Teri baatein sunane aaye hain.." Honestly, I didn't listen this Ghazal before but I was fascinated by his voice and the very known andaaz of presenting ghazals.

Before starting second ghazal Khan sahab said "ye meri farmaish pe ap sunenge , fir farmaishein bhi sunenge, ye meri farmaishi hai, pehle ye sun lein" He started "Fir usi Rahguzaar par shayad.." and thought chalo, minimum one ghazal I have listened.

Before starting every ghazal he was telling the 'Raag' of the ghazal (which I don't understand :D) and also mentioning the name of poet.

Third Ghazal he sang was Dil me ek leher si uthi hai abhi..  and as his trademark he said "leher ke andaz pesh karunga gale se, ginte rahiyega..." I counted 15 then lost into ghazal and forgot to count all. :D

Then he asked audience for our farmaish.. the audi echoed with so many popular ghazals and he sang almost all the ghazals requested.. Faasle aise bhi.. Ye baatein jhoothi baatein (nazm).. Hum tere sheher mei.. Kitni muddat baad.. Jab tassawur mera chupke se.. Kal chaudhavi ki raat..

He remembered Jagjit Singh Sahab also.. In between he was talking to Roop Kumar and Sonali Rathore too.

Once he asked the cameraman to stop his recording because it was disturbing him.

He was entertaining us not only with his singing but also interacting with audience, cracking some jokes and making atmosphere humorous too.

Then he said "ye ek ghazal aur pesh karta hu, idhar se farmaish huyi thi, mai bhool gaya tha, bohot achhi ghazal hai ye bhi..suniyega"  and sang Huyi hai shaam do aankhon mei bas gaya fir tu..

There was request of one ghazal which was being made every time he was turning towards audience and finally it was the time for Hungama hai kyu barpa.. Everyone was exhilarated with Khan Sahab's singing.

And this was the last ghazal for the evening. The host for the evening announced end of show. But someone from audience was still requesting Chupke Chupke raat din.. Karan (The Host) rejected his requested but the best moment of the show was when Ghulam Ali Sahab said "Chalo fir ho jaye", almost jumped like a kid and within fraction of sec was again on his harmonium and sang one sher from this very popular ghazal by Maulana Hasrat Mohani.

This was my experience of first ever Ghulam Ali live concert. A fan in mee was overwhelmed with the generous, humble and a simple attitude of this legend.
